Cotai Water Jet and Cathay Pacific have announced the signing of a codeshare agreement aimed at making it easier, faster and more convenient to book ferry tickets to Macau for passengers flying into Hong Kong.
The partnership, which kicked off on Monday, will see Cathay Pacific add its “CX” code on Cotai Water Jet services operating between Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and Taipa Ferry Terminal, the main access point to the Cotai Strip.
The CX designation allows Cathay Pacific customers in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and the US to book tickets on Cotai Water Jet via the airline’s local website, www.cathaypacific.com. Booking eligibility for other international markets will be extended over the next few months, Sands said.
Other benefits for Cathay Pacific passengers travelling to Macau will include convenient check-through baggage and a choice of six daily direct Cotai Water Jet sailings departing from the SkyPier at HKIA. Sands said that the arrangements will be particularly convenient for meetings and conference organizers in terms of consolidating large-scale travel transactions.
“We are very excited about this new agreement with Cathay Pacific which represents a significant step forward in providing an even better service to our international customers,” said Derek Cridland, Vice President Ferry Operations, Cotai Water Jet. “The arrangement with Cotai Water Jet will provide hassle-free, seamless air-sea transfers for our mutual customers and meetings and conference delegates, enhancing accessibility and offering greater choices for an unrivalled travel experience.”
Cotai Water Jet, which is wholly-owned by Sands China Ltd, offers a direct high-speed ferry service between Macau, Taipa, Hong Kong, Kowloon and Hong Kong International Airport.
