Okada Manila’s flagship “Cove Manila” attraction – an indoor beach and nightclub – has opened for business following a glitzy launch party in December highlighted by a performance from international DJ Steve Aoki.
The launch comes almost exactly one year after Okada Manila held its own soft launch on 30 December 2016.
Cove Manila is a 9,000-square-meter entertainment destination that includes a luxurious indoor beach club during the day which becomes a nightclub by night. It is located inside a sprawling 30-meter tall UV-protected glass dome.
In a press release, Okada Manila said that Cove Manila is “home to Tony Andrew’s Funktion-One high-resolution sound system and a six-ring kinetic chandelier capable of various visual and lighting effects that engulf the audience in a trance-like experience.”
The beach club also boasts an exclusive indoor lounge area allowing guests to enjoy views out over Manila Bay.
Okada Manila owner Universal Entertainment Corporation said in November that it expects the property’s earnings to increase in 2018 due to the completion of the VIP casino and other key attractions, with the grand opening to be held early this year.
“The plan is for Okada Manila to start making a material contribution to consolidated performance once this resort and casino holds its grand opening,” Universal said.
“The dome will be a key symbol of this casino and resort along with The Fountain, which made its debut in March 2017.”
