Four people have been injured after a section of ceiling collapsed at Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) on Tuesday morning.
Three contractors carrying out renovation works and a security guard suffered minor injuries as a result of the collapse, which occurred near a restaurant in the mezzanine gaming area on the property’s west wing. All four were later treated nearby for neck pains and head injuries before being discharged.
A spokesman for the integrated resort confirmed to local media that no guests had been affected by the incident.
“A part of the ceiling board leading to the mezzanine gaming area of the casino fell off this morning when external contractors were carrying out enhancement works,” the spokesman said.
“There were no guests at that area during the incident. One security staff and three external contractors sustained minor injuries.
“The safety of our guests and employees is our top priority.”
The Straits Times reported that three men were taken to Singapore General Hospital with the fourth treated at RWS’ medical clinic.
