Australian-listed casino operator Silver Heritage Group says it expects to have casino operations at its new Tiger Palace Resort in Nepal up and running before the end of the year.
In response to questions by Inside Asian Gaming about the progress of relevant license applications, a Silver Heritage spokesman said that all paperwork has now been lodged and the company awaiting final approvals after the Ministry of Tourism conducted its inspection of the property last Thursday 14 and Friday 15 December.
The company announced on 30 November that its hotel had been awarded a 5-Star Hotel Rating by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal. Its subsequent license application included a request that its existing existing licensed casino management company, SHL Management Services Private Ltd (SHMK), be approved to operate the Tiger Palace casino.
SHMK currently operates the Millionaire’s Club casino at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kathmandu. Under Nepal’s casino regulations it is able to operate casinos in different 5-Star hotels in the country.
Silver Heritage told IAG that it was planning a New Year’s Eve Party at Tiger Palace that will include “gaming and entertainment.”
“We expect to have the wheels spinning and be open prior to 31 December,” the spokesman said.
