Two of Macau’s most highly credentialed gaming lawyers have been named in the 2018 Chambers and Partners 2018 Asia Pacific rankings – an annual list of the world’s top lawyers and law firms in their respective areas.
MdME’s Rui Pinto Proença and Bruno Nunes from BN Lawyers were among just eight lawyers ranked in the Gaming and Gambling section for the Asia Pacific region, which covers 41 jurisdictions including large markets such as Macau, Australia, India, Japan and Singapore plus smaller jurisdictions sucg as Myanmar and Mongolia.
The rankings describe Proença as being “noted for his expertize regarding gaming issues in Laos, Cambodia and the Philippines in addition to his significant expertize in Macau, where he is based. Peers readily acknowledge both the strength of his firm and his own individual prowess.”
Nunes is described as “a respected market figure as a result of his expertize in commercial and IP issues relating to gaming and gambling, including assisting junket operators on casino financing and licensing matters.”
