The All Japan Poker Championship (AJPC), an organization hosting poker tournaments in Japan, has announced the launch of a new international poker tour with the aim of “developing one of the largest circuits in Asia.”
The AJPC Asian Circuit will kick off in Korea this week with its first ever event, the AJPC Asian Circuit – Korea, to be held at Paradise City Incheon.
It will feature a KRW1.1 million (US$1,000) buy-in main event and a KRW11.8 million (US$10,800) buy-in High Roller event as part of the nine event schedule.
Organizers claim they are expecting more than 300 players from Japan “with additional interest from the Pan-Asia poker community.”
More events are set to be announced later this week.
The AJPC describes itself as an organization “focused on further developing the game of poker for Japanese players with a strategy to promote events both inside and outside of Japan.”
It currently holds a yearly AJPC Championship which it says is the largest poker tournament of its type in Japan.
