Punters hoping to get lucky during Grand National week could do worse than asking for a tip from a friend called David or Kate, according to research by Casingdom.com.
The findings, commissioned by casino review website Casingdom.com, show that people consider those called David and Katie to top the luck charts, although they’re closely followed by Sarah, John, Victoria, Richard and Jane, who could also prove profitable during the big race.
The survey also asked 2,000 adults why they feel some people are luckier than others, and what the tell-tale signs are – with being positive, believing in luck and getting over setbacks being key factors in making your own luck.
The survey, conducted by Opinium, also found the top five signs which respondents believe make you the luckiest.
Top of the list was the belief that having a positive attitude will make good things happen, closely followed by a knack of being in the right place at the right time.
Tellingly, more people believe that lucky people create their own luck (36%) rather than are born with it (20%).
