GLI is growing its reach in Asia, adding GLI Mobile to its expanding range of exclusive value-adding tools for regulators and suppliers
Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) is the world’s premier testing company for gaming devices. The newest addition to GLI’s extensive line of exclusive tools for regulators and suppliers is the recently released GLI Mobile application, which will be showcased for the first time at this year’s G2E Asia (after having made its official debut at G2E in Las Vegas in October).
GLI Mobile is a new downloadable app that, according to the company, “allows clients to take the lab with them anywhere, right on their mobile phone or tablet.” GLI Mobile enables regulators and suppliers to quickly and easily log into GLI’s global database, GLIAccess. The company adds: “GLI Mobile gives users 24/7 access to the lab in a highly secure and password-protected environment. GLI Mobile also sends important notifications by email and gives the user real-time tracking and project management.”
Other GLI exclusive tools include GLI Verify, Ask GLI and GLI Link. The award-winning GLI Link technology allows suppliers to remotely test devices against systems, saving time and money that might otherwise be spent in shipping. Then, GLI’s exclusive and award-winning Point.Click.Transfer technology empowers suppliers to transfer previously certified devices into jurisdictions around the world, immediately opening up a global marketplace. GLI Verify is a hand-held tool for regulators, used to verify devices and systems on the casino floor, and Ask GLI is a direct Q&A link to the lab.
Asia firsts
GLI’s Macau-based GLI Asia laboratory was the first full gaming testing lab in the region’s biggest gaming hub, and since its opening, the test lab has become the first and only gaming test lab in Asia to achieve accreditation for ISO/ISE 17025:2005.
Part of GLI’s global network of 16 laboratories, GLI Asia provides the region with independent testing and certification for all electronic gaming devices, and has been rapidly growing its business alongside Asia’s gaming boom.
Recently, GLI Asia announced it was expanding its reach into the lottery side of the industry, executing numerous high-profile lottery projects in Beijing, China; South Korea; and Taiwan. Additionally, GLI Asia’s General Manager Larry Xiao has become an in-demand speaker on lottery issues. Most recently, Mr Xiao was invited to speak at the International Conference on Public Welfare and Gaming Industry at Peking University and at the Asian Sports and Welfare Lottery Summit in Singapore.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the growth of our Asia operation, both in terms of clients served and our expanding staff. We recently added more than 10 full-time engineering staff in the GLI Asia full-service lab, and the lab has doubled in size since its opening in January 2009,” said Ian Hughes, Managing Director of GLI’s Asia Pacific Operations.
“Further, and perhaps most important, GLI Asia has brought more real value-added services to the regulators and operators in the land-based, iGaming and lottery segments throughout the Asian region, also to Asia-based and international suppliers,” he added.
GLI Asia tests a wide range of electronic devices and systems including lottery, keno, and bingo; tote and pari-mutuel systems; cashless wagering systems; on-line computer systems and systems modifications; sports betting and wagering systems; and casino style gaming devices & VLTs. GLI also tests interoperability and communication; player tracking systems; TITO systems; RNG; and conducts associated/peripheral equipment testing and certification.
